The game exclusively sold for PS2, begins the first volume on June 20th. Also the OVA "Liminality" (リミナリティー) is bundled with it. All 4 volumes of the OVA will come with each part of the game. Each volume consists of the game and the OVA, if you wish to buy the both of them in the same bundle. There would be approximately 20+ hours on each cd, and the game's story continues on, on each volume just like the OVA. .hack is presented like an online mass multiplayer online role playing game, but it's only simulated, so it seems like it is.
